Paula Moore
When you chat with Paula, it won’t take too long before the conversation turns to creative endeavors, whether it be a new art class or a workshop she’s teaching, a new pet portrait commission or new design idea. Missouri watercolorist, Paula Moore speaks of her love of art beginning at an early age weaving a wonderful life path. She followed her State Highway Patrol husband over Missouri while they raised two children and handled a full throttle 30 year career in banking. Since retirement she has returned to her first love of teaching and creating art. Watercolor is her favorite medium, however she also works in acrylic, batik and pencil across the gambit of realistic, impressionism, abstract art, expressing the unique language of design. After her family, she cherishes her little rescue dog, Snickers, fiber arts, bluebirds and herb gardening. Paula has received numerous art awards, taught in WOCE National Conventions, in person & on line classes. She combines her love for travel and teaching innovative art workshops across the country.
Additionally, Paula continues her love for travel and capturing water colored beautiful landscapes around the world. Paula’s development of her “HisART! Series involves intriguing Bible studies for youth and women’s programs. She is currently writing a faith-based art book featuring the Elements and Principles of Design.
She continues her art watercolor education with mentor, Jane Jones, Dallas, Texas. Other influential instructors are Audrey Bottrell, Kim Johnson, Kathleen Conover, Soon Warren, Fealing Lin, Tom Lynch, Kathie George.
Paula is a member of Springfield Regional Art Council, and Past Treasurer of Visual Art Alliance of Springfield. Her art work received the Jurors Choice Award at the Waverly House, Springfield Missouri and has been shown in several local galleries. Commission landscapes, pet and people portraits along with sharing her techniques in teaching continues to be Paula’s passion.
