Tracy L. Bruton

Tracy Livingston Bruton has thirty years of teaching experience, grades K-adult in the Springfield Public School System. She taught art and was the Department Chair at Glendale High School for twenty five of those years. During her time there she’s won multiple awards and has experience in both two and three-dimensional media. Her students have attended some of the most prestigious art schools both in and outside of the country based on portfolios that were created in her classroom. As a member of NAEA, she’s presented workshops at conferences on both the state and national levels. She was filmed for a Master Teacher series and was an adjunct professor for both OTC and MSU. She was also a Toyota International Teacher and participated in a study abroad program in Japan. She has led tours with her students to 17 different countries around the globe, which Tracy says has profoundly impacted the way sees the world.

As a working artist herself, she has been involved in many community events. She has judged, juried and hung countless shows including Artsfest on Walnut, Winterfest at Hammons Hall for the performing arts, the Library Center and the All School Art Show at the Springfield Art Museum. She was the artistic director for the Bellwether Gallery in the Monarch Art Factory and was the Visual Arts Director for Second Baptist church where she coordinated summer classes for over 300 children. She has also painted murals and designed logos for area businesses. She is currently the art therapist at Creekside at Elfindale.
