Just in time for the Easter Season, this week’s project will be my watercolor rendition of a beautiful Ukrainian Easter Egg. I had the privilege of meeting a Ukrainian lady in Iowa in the late 70’s and have several of her hand painted designs, one of which I used as a reference. Join us and I will share the rest of the story and my collection of eggs. For my egg, I chose the yellow & blue of Ukrainian Country in honor of those suffering. For this workshop, you may use these same colors or you may choose your own color combination. You’ll learned about this old art form of the Pysanka Eggs & the traditions surrounding them. The original designs were fashioned using melted beeswax and dyes. Gain a better understanding of color theory, and several watercolor techniques including glazing colors, introduction to liquid masking fluid. Class fee is $30 which includes the venue fee, instructional guides, prepared transfer pattern on 140lb watercolor paper ready for you to apply the masking fluid which is also included. Image size fits an 8”x10” mat opening.
