Fun Fabulous Florals with Regina Willard
February 27 Thursday 10-3pm (break for lunch) Splatter Art Studio
Student fee $50 plus a $5 studio fee ($55 total)
Students will create memorable and eye catching florals using brushes and palette knifes. Hands on painting and demonstration will help you complete smaller works and one larger one. Learn to give your work more powerful effect with tips for more expressive painting. Gain confidence in painting loose start to finish. Reference photos will be provided for each student. Beginner to intermediate students welcomed!
Supplies needed / oil or acrylic paints ( colors vary depending on what brand you use. Feel free to bring your favorite colors that you enjoy) The colors listed below are suggested but not recommended;
Paint colors……Titanium white, cadmium yellow light, cadmium yellow deep, gold ochre, cadmium orange or hue, cad red light, alizarin crimison or rose/permanent magenta, burnt sienna, ultramarine blue, colbalt blue, viridian, ( i like using medium with my oil paints such as linseed, liquin or neo megilp..if using acrylic I like flow medium or gel)
Canvas….bring small sizes 5x7 or 8x10 for quick timed exercises..( 3 each) also bring a larger size like a 12x16 or 16x20 for your final piece…stretched or canvas boards will work.
Palette knives in medium to larger sizes (variety), wedges or spatulas are good ( gives a different way to lay paint onto canvas)
Brushes…… in sizes 4-6-8-10 , round, flats, and filberts are good. Palette paper in 12x16 size to lay paint out and mix. Painters tape, paper towels, Gamsol oderless solvent if using oils and water container if using acrylics for cleaning brushes. If using acrylics bring a squirt bottle of water to keep paint moist.
